Today, Monday, September 17, Catella Sverige Index changes its name to Catella Sverige Hållbart Beta. The reason for the name change is that we are now taking the next step in transforming the fund into a sustainable fund that invests broadly in the Swedish SIXRX stock index while at the same time avoiding a number of industries and companies that we do not consider sustainable in the long term. We have clarified and improved the processes surrounding sustainability for all our funds, and we now have an exclusion limit for all funds and work to influence companies for all our holdings.
This means that current Swedish regulations unfortunately do not allow us to retain the word Index in the name. When choosing to invest in index funds, one of the most important factors is the index that the fund tracks. Our fund tracks the broad SIXRX index. This index currently contains 330 companies that we are tasked with following with the lowest possible tracking error. As the fund becomes a sustainable fund that keeps close to the index, we are screening out a total of 19 companies in tobacco production, commercial gambling, pornography, coal production, weapons and fossil fuel production. We estimate that the tracking error will go up from today's levels of close to 0 to just over 0.5%, once we have screened out these companies from SIXRX.
Catella Sverige Hållbart Beta will therefore become one of the most competitive and sustainable funds for investors seeking a close-to-index alternative in their Sweden investments.
